The Sarasota High School Improv Troupe was created in 2003 and has since been one of the only student run improv troupes in the county. There are four improv shows a year (two short form, one longform, and one specialty production) and the troupe may be asked to perform at special events like the Holiday Gala, festivals, and other fun events.
Improv is all about quick thinking, problem solving, and storytelling. Being a part of this troupe is an honor and a privilege, as only about 12 students are accepted into the troupe. You do not have to be a pro to be in improv- you just have to be willing to push yourself beyond your comfort zone and learn from your fellow troupe members. If you are interested in joining our troupe, please contact Ms. K to set up a shadowing opportunity. Auditions are at the end of the school year, and any student in grades 9-11 (those who will be sophomores, juniors, or seniors the following year) are invited to apply.
If you are an individual or organization that would like to have Improv Underground at your event, please contact Lacey Knispel for more information at lacey.knispel@sarasotacoutyschools.net.
