The SHS Theatre Ambassadors are an elite group of students that participate and train in the running of the theater. These students not only represent Sarasota High School, theatre and the performing arts, but they also help our school and outside organizations with any and all of their productions in our theater and at our school.
Student's who become SHS Ambassadors will have the opportunity to earn all their needed Bright Future's Community Service hours, through full participation in activities. These students will learn what it is like to run the events, from ordering food to feed people, organizing large groups coming in, to planning entertainment. They will also learn all about the theater and how it is run, from the lights and sound, to how to call a show as a stage manager- and, not just for theatrical shows but guest speakers, award banquets, meetings and talent shows.
As SHS Ambassadors, students over the years have had the chance to work and meet with professionals in the directing, acting and business fields. Some of these professionals include Gina Davis, Rory Kennedy and Penelope Ann Miller.
